external Wall Insulation

If your home was built before 1920 or you live in a non-traditional construction house then External Wall Insulation can significantly improve the energy efficiency of your home.

Solid walls or non-traditional houses can lose twice as much heat as cavity-construction properties. On average you will save around £490 per year on energy bills and reduce your CO2 emissions by 1.9t/year (Energy Saving Trust figures, November 2013) By insulating your solid walls it will not only keep the warmth in to save energy, but it can also help reduce condensation inside the house if this is a problem on your external walls.

You can chose from a variety of different colours and finishes, which can be smooth, textured, painted, tiled, paneled or pebble-dashed. All Love to Save Energy External Wall Insulation installations come with the Solid Wall Insulation Guarantee Agency (SWIGA). The SWIGA Quality Assurance Framework and Guarantee for solid wall insulation provides additional peace of mind and access to technical expertise in the event of any defect arising in the design, workmanship or materials and is aligned to the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) requirements for a 25 Year guarantee.

The installation time for External Wall Insulation can vary as every house is different. On average an installation will take around 10-12 days.

You could save up to £460 every year on your energy bills

If your property has solid walls you are likely to be losing up to twice as much heat than a property with cavity walls. Solid wall insulation not only saves you money, but can dramatically improve the appearance of your home.

Here’s how your solid wall insulation will be installed

  • We’ll prepare your home for installation which will involve the removal of relevant external fixtures
  • Your insulation will be installed
  • Once your insulation, base coat and render have been applied, we’ll finish with the colour and texture of your choice. Then we’ll re-install all your home’s external fixtures
  • Finally we’ll remove the scaffolding and installation debris and leave your home feeling warmer and looking good

Insulation purposes

Before installation begins, a SWIGA registered installer will carry out a pre-installation assessment to ensure that the property is suitable for External Wall Insulation. The installation of the insulation will then be completed at a mutually convenient time according to stringent technical standards laid down by SWIGA.

Once the work is finished, we will apply to SWIGA for a Guarantee, and a certificate will be sent directly to you. The Guarantee should be kept safely, as it may need to be produced in the event of a claim or if you sell the property, since the Guarantee is also available to subsequent owners of the property.
